Track racing

Track racing is typically a shorter form of bike racing where participants compete around a hyperbolic paraboloid-shaped track (otherwise known as a saddle shape, or more colloquially a Pringle-shape) to be the first across the line.

However there are numerous styles of games to shake things up and offer opportunities to many different styles of racers. These can include first-to-the-line, assorted points races, varying lap counts (from half to 150), time trials and elimination races.

Competitions are performed on fixed-gear bicycles, without hand brakes or the ability to coast. Speed is entirely controlled by the rider’s legs.
